1. Information we may collect
Depending on how you use Body Black Box, we may collect or process:
- Account details such as email address, authentication ID, and support messages.
- User-entered migraine, headache, symptom, medication, relief, trigger, function-impact, cycle, period, and wellness notes.
- Optional environmental context such as weather snapshots or approximate location used to retrieve local weather, if enabled.
- Subscription and entitlement status from App Store, Google Play, or RevenueCat.
- Device, app version, crash, diagnostics, and usage information needed for app reliability and support.
- Exports, reports, or files you choose to create, save, or share.
2. How we use information
- Provide migraine logging, calendar history, visual trends, reports, reminders, and safety review features.
- Support account login, cloud sync, backup, restore, and deletion controls where available.
- Process Premium access and restore purchases.
- Respond to support, bug reports, privacy requests, and account deletion requests.
- Improve app reliability, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
3. Sensitive health information
Body Black Box may store sensitive user-entered health-related information. The app is designed to support personal tracking and medical conversations, but it is not a healthcare provider, does not provide medical diagnosis, and is not emergency care.
4. Location and weather
If location-based weather features are enabled, location may be used to retrieve weather context for migraine pattern review. You can deny or disable location permissions through device settings. Weather snapshots are used for user-facing pattern context and are not a diagnosis.
5. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell your personal health logs. We may use trusted service providers for hosting, authentication, crash diagnostics, subscription management, email support, app distribution, analytics, or similar operational needs. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services.
6. User exports and sharing
You control exports and reports you generate from the app. If you share a report with a clinician, family member, or other third party, that sharing is your choice and may be governed by their privacy practices.
7. Subscriptions
Premium subscriptions are managed through the App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat. We may receive subscription status, product identifiers, entitlement status, renewal state, and related purchase metadata, but payment card details are handled by the store platform.
8. Data retention and deletion
We keep information as long as needed to provide the app, support your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. You may request account deletion using the steps on the Account Deletion page. Store subscriptions must be canceled separately through Apple or Google if you no longer want renewal billing.
9. Children
Body Black Box is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for account and app data. No system is perfectly secure, because the internet is apparently a series of raccoons in a server closet. Use strong account credentials and keep your device secure.
11. Your choices
- Update or delete logs inside the app where controls are available.
- Export your information using available report/export tools.
- Disable location permissions through device settings.
- Cancel subscriptions through the App Store or Google Play.
- Request account deletion by following the Account Deletion page.
